HIGH SCHOOL ONLY

Homecoming is at hand! Please attend it is going to be a Monster Mash!! The dance will be held in our gym on Saturday Oct 1st from 7pm to 11pm Tickets will be on sale all week during Highschool lunch in the gym. Tickets are $30 pre-sale and $35 at the door. Semi Formal attire is being asked and if the students want to attend in light costumes or have costume pieces that is fine as long as it is not too risqué or gory and that we can clearly see the students face so no full masks. We ask that everyone attending the dance arrive before 8:30pm as we will not be able to allow admittance to the event following that time. If you have any questions feel free to reach out and ask somebody or you can ask Mr. Blanco as well. Hope to see you there! Its going to be a graveyard smash!!

HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL

The racks next to the middle school bathrooms are for athletic bags ONLY. Nobody should be using these racks for school backpacks or books. If students use these racks for school backpacks and books, the items will be removed to the lost and found.

Athletic bags may not be on the floor. Both racks may be used; in other words, boys can put their athletic bags on the rack next to the girl’s bathroom and vice-versa. Detentions will be issued for athletic bags on the floor or school books & backpacks on the racks.

Hallo Titans! Remember to look for German students around the school to help you answer this week’s trivia questions; they are wearing pins and stickers to identify themselves. Any Titan who turns in all answers, including the bonus trivia hidden around the school, can win a goody bag in addition to all those house points. Today’s trivia questions are: Which U.S. State is approximately the same size as Germany? and What is Germany’s biggest industry?

The intro to chess lesson is being postponed until next week. We hope to see you there! Our chess tournament will continue tomorrow as scheduled!

Guten Morgen! It’s day two of German trivia week! Did you know that there are bonus questions posted around the school bulletin boards? Look for the pretzels to find these extra opportunities for more house points! Today’s two trivia questions are: When do you say Gesundheit to someone? and, What are the three biggest cities in Germany? Collect your answers throughout the week on the trivia submission form, which you can pick up outside of Room 307, and turn in all answers on Friday!

Guten Tag! This week Frau Sielaff and the German students are kicking off the second annual CPA German trivia contest! Answer the trivia questions that will be read during the announcements each morning to win house points and other prizes! Students of German around the school can also help you with the trivia. Any student or faculty member can pick up a submission form outside of the German classroom (307). Turn your submission form in to the box in rm 307 or to Frau Sielaff in the faculty office at the end of the week to earn house points for each correct answer (due date Friday).  Anyone who submits correct answers can also collect extra goodies on Monday, Oct 3– more info on that coming soon. Today’s two trivia questions are: which countries have German as an official langauge? and, who is the current chancellor of Germany?

This is not only important because it is part of how you behave at school but also because rushing around can result in falls and bumping into others. Notice the 7th and 8th graders do not rush in the hallways, and neither do our high school students. Thank you for being safe and respectful.

Hearing all about chess sounds cool but you have no idea how to play? No worries! Mr. Mukai will have an intro to chess lesson next Monday, teaching you the movement of the pieces, some advanced moves, and three basic openings! Space is limited, with a $15 entry fee. Come learn one of the most time honored games in history!

Hallo CPA! Next week Frau Sielaff and the German classes will be hosting a German trivia week for the whole school. The faculty have set aside some of their meeting time today, Wednesday, 9-21, to meet with Seniors for Thesis work from 2:45 until 3:15.  Bring your working thesis statement and your laptop for this working meeting.  Your advisor will instruct you whether to meet in the Forum, Library, or Cafeteria.  You may be sharing the time with your faculty advisor’s other advisees, and if that is the case, see what your fellow classmates are working on and writing about. This meeting time can help you get good ideas for your outline and future rough draft writing coming up.  See your HL teacher or Mrs. Stephens if you have to miss the meeting time and need to schedule a make-up time with your advisor.

MIDDLE SCHOOL ONLY

SIXTH GRADE STUDENTS:  We know you are being responsible and conscientious about getting to class on time, but please remember there is no running, or “dangerous” speed walking, anywhere on campus. That includes the hallways, cafeteria, sidewalks, and ramada. This is not only important because it is part of how you behave at school but also because rushing around can result in falls and bumping into others. Notice the 7th and 8th graders do not rush in the hallways, and neither do our high school students. Thank you for being safe and respectful.

Attention all Titans! This Friday, 9/23, all students are encouraged to wear their House shirts over uniforms bottoms in honor of our first House event that day. 

ALL STUDENTS, DO NOT TAKE EQUIPMENT FROM THE GYM STORAGE ROOMS!

STUDENT AMBASSADORS are still needed for this Thursday at 3:25 to pass out programs and greet parents at the theater doors for the 6th grade plays. Sign up in the notebook at the front desk OR speak to Mr. Ewer or Mrs. Goodwin if you can serve. This is a fun way to practice your hospitality!

Attention ALL Titans! PSO will be selling House shirts in the Forum during lunch and Lyceum this Wed. and Thurs. House shirts will be sold for $15 each, so bring your cash ready to go.  You will want your House shirts for our upcoming House events Friday September 23rd, our first House meetings, Friday September 30th for our Homecoming Assembly and Homecoming Game! If you are unable to purchase a House shirt, on those specific days, you can wear a plain shirt of the same color as your House color. Let’s go, Titans!

CPA students and teachers, come out and support the football team tonight in a last minute home game against a challenging team, Seqouia Pathway.  Kickoff is at 7 pm, so join your fellow students in the bleacher student section to cheer on the Titans.  We could also use some adult assistance to volunteer on the sidelines.  See Mrs. De Cossio if you would like to help out.  Go Titans!

Arizona State University will be visiting CPA this TODAY, 9/15 at 9:15 AM.  Please make sure to bring your gold pass with you to the visit!

Muhlenberg College will be doing a virtual visit this TOMORROW, 9/16 at 9:15 AM. Please make sure that you sign up on the sheet in the forum and get the gold pass signed by your teacher 24 hours before the visit.

FRESHMAN

Your Green Information Sheets are due this TOMORROW, 9/16 to your College Counselor by the end of the day.

Thumos! Assemble in the theatre after school today!! If you are interested in school spirit! If you like going to sports games and cheering the loudest!! If you like spreading school spirit and singing loudly for all to hear this might be for you. They are asking me to lead and I’m doing the best I can, To get the people that I need. I’m asking you to be my right hand man or woman. I know it’s a lot to ask but I look forward to seeing everyone after school today or most Thursday’s  in the theatre if you are interested!

The following information is for those students who are working on one of the murals in 310 or 307. Starting today, 9/15 Art Guild will meet 3:30-5pm EVERY OTHER WEEK. This will allow us more time specifically for set up, painting and clean up each session.The Art Guild will continue to meet weekly from 3:30-4:30 for any other participant in rooms 214 & 215!
