All high school volleyball players that played this fall need to report to the gym Tuesday, December 17th at the start of lunch for a short meeting.

Hey Archons, Remember that time you told Mrs. Caporali you were going to paint boxes….yeah that was fun. Boxes need to be finished by next Tuesday. You may paint at lunch until finals. Any issues, please see Mrs. Caporali.

MIDDLE SCHOOL ONLY

Athletic Early Releases for Today:

HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL

A word on tardiness: Tardiness interrupts learning for everyone in the classroom and is disrespectful to teachers. Students who are tardy miss the very important beginning of class. Good attendance and punctuality are skills for success in life; that is why we emphasize both. – Be prompt to all classes (in your seat when the bell rings). Five minutes passing time is adequate; plan your time carefully. Students who are tardy to class will be issued a consequence.

Think you know a lot about Civics and the American government? Do you secretly long to be part of an E-Sports team that doesn’t involve moving to Korea? Would you like to try your hand at winning an iPad of an undisclosed generation and model? If, somehow, these three rhetorical questions adequately describe you, then come to an informational meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 11th, in room 218 after school! Students in grades 6th-8th and 9th-12th will be placed in teams of three to play in a virtual tournament of a game selected from the iCivics website (iCivics.org) hosted by lawforkids.org, the Arizona Bar Foundation, and in partnership with the Arizona Supreme Court and the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education. The top eight teams from each division (6th-8th and 9th-12th) will be competing against each other in person in March for an iPad for each member of the 1st place team. Please see Mr. Tacderan for more information if you cannot attend the meeting but would like to know more.

It is that time of year! The Plastic Bag drive is beginning. Starting Wednesday, 12/4, plastic bags will be collected for house points. As a bonus this year, one of our fantastic CPA students, Emily Stopher, will be turning bags into reusable bags. From Emily herself: “I will provide plastic grocery bag drop-off destinations before and after school in the Forum in exchange for a more environmentally safe solution. I am asking that each student turn-in a minimum of 30 plastic bags to receive their replacement.  Each bag turned in will be counted as a House Point!” The schedule for when to bring in your bags is as follows. Be certain to bring bags in on your house day! House schedule for bag drop-off:

  • Wednesday 12/11 = all Houses welcome

Please see Mrs. Caporali, Mrs. Myers, or Emily Stopher with any questions. Thank you!

Archery and Bowyery — We will have our last meeting of the semester today after school.

Students are expected to be present in their classrooms and ready to begin class work prior to the late bell. The Family Handbook states: “The school disapproves of the accumulation of unexcused late arrivals to school, irrespective of the circumstances. Persistent first-period tardiness is highly disruptive of instruction and undermines student morale. On the third occasion (fourth for Middle School) that a student has an unexcused first-period tardy in a quarter, a detention will be issued to the student by the first–period teacher. For each subsequent unexcused first period tardy in the quarter, another detention will be issued. When a student has received four detentions for tardiness in a quarter, then he or she may receive an in-school suspension for a duration determined by the administration.”
