HIGH SCHOOL ONLY

Attention Seniors-

Tuesday, November 23, all Seniors are invited to participate in an annual tradition, “The Running of the Nerds.” There will be a group run around the school from 8:05 – 8:20 to parade through the Middle School and High School areas before the 1st period bell, as well as a Best Dressed Nerd competition and a treat at Lunch in the Gym.

Seniors may dress in either their regular uniform with added accessories such as special socks, shoes, glasses, hair styles, or they may choose to come in alternate attire on this day. The guidelines for the accessories and alternate attire are as follows:

  • no pop culture or Halloween costumes of movie/sci-fi characters
  • no fully covering your face with a hat/mask – we should be able to see your eyes
  • dressing as a celebrity or a well-known community “nerd” is allowed as long as it is done with good will and not mean-spirited
  • accessories should not distract from participation in the day’s classes, and teachers have the discretion to have anything put away for the remainder of their class if it becomes a problem
  • mobile phones may not be a part of the costume or accessories

We look forward to seeing the creativity and amazing insights that you Seniors will bring to this day.

If you’re tired of being couped up—if you long for adventure—if you desire space to think, to breath, to explore, then look no further! The Opt Outside Enrichment Course is for you! The goal of the course is to explore and encounter nature in an intimate and embodied way. We will do this by going on at least 3 outdoor adventures each quarter. These adventures will most often be hiking excursions, but they may also include activities such as kayaking, climbing, and cycling. Come to room 304 after school today, November 12th, to find your adventure!”
