HIGH SCHOOLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL
Students are expected to be present in their classrooms and ready to begin class work prior to the late bell. A reminder about 1st hour tardies, from The Family Handbook: “The school disapproves of the accumulation of unexcused late arrivals to school, irrespective of the circumstances. Persistent first-period tardiness is highly disruptive of instruction and undermines student morale. On the third occasion (fourth for Middle School) that a student has an unexcused first-period tardy in a quarter, a detention will be issued to the student by the first–period teacher. For each subsequent unexcused first period tardy in the quarter, another detention will be issued. When a student has received four detentions for tardiness in a quarter, then he or she may receive an in-school suspension for a duration determined by the administration.”
Do you play an instrument (stings, woodwinds, brass, or percussion) but missed the first meeting for the instrumental groups? See Mrs. Gottry in room 213 for information and/or registration.
Check the bookshelf across from the front desk for any items your parents may have dropped off for you during the day, such as: lunches; water bottles; glasses; assignments; school supplies. Please take a moment between classes, on HL break, and before lunch to look for your forgotten items. It is your responsibility to check the bookshelf. You will not be called out of class to pick-up items.
ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE A LOCK ON THEIR RESPECTIVE LOCKERS, AND LOCKED WHEN NOT IN USE, IMMEDIATELY. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN A LUNCH DETENTION WITH AN ASSISTANT HEADMASTER. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, PLEASE SEE MRS. BRADY.
