ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR WEDNESDAY 8/14/19

HIGH SCHOOL ONLY

The ASU visit scheduled for today, August 14, is cancelled and will be rescheduled soon. 

High school tennis players, there will be an informational meeting on Friday the 16th to discuss off season training. Please be in room 302 by 12:20, the meeting will only last a few minutes, so you need to be on time. Any issues please see Coach Caporali in the faculty office. Thanks! 

SENIORS only: All thesis seminar groups have met by now and are reading their texts. Contact your advisor to set up meeting times to discuss your topic and texts. Stay on top of your Senior Thesis deadlines!

Attention all 9th graders plus any high school students new to the school!
There will be a mandatory meeting Monday, August 19th during high school Lyceum in the theater to discuss community service. All Chandler Prep high school students are required to complete community service hours in order to graduate. Please be on time at the beginning of Lyceum.

HS Art Club will have another initial meeting this Thursday during HS Lyceum in room 214.

We met Monday after school and discussed plans for the year. CPA needs your attendance & registration!

First official Art Club will be Monday, August 26 3:45-5:45. Plan on wearing appropriate clothing for painting/sculpting etc. along with a snack. We will meet every other Monday in room 214. Register online; fee is $35. Questions see Ms. Summa. 

SENIORS

The first college visits of the year to Chandler Prep begin the week of August 12.  Remember to sign up in the Forum.  Get your gold College Visit Pass signed by your teacher at least 24 hours before the scheduled visit.  Bring your signed pass to the college presentation.  You can find blank passes in the College Corner or one of the College Counselor’s offices.

JUNIORS & SENIORS

  • Many out-of-state colleges begin visiting the state of Arizona this month and continue through the fall.  Various evening or weekend events are held throughout the valley.  Check the Junior and Senior bulletin boards between the College Counselor’s offices for upcoming off-campus presentations.  Most events also require that you register online.  Details are posted on the bulletin boards.

MIDDLE SCHOOL ONLY

MS Art Club starts today from 3:30-4:30 and will run every Monday throughout the semester. Please see Ms. Dupee with any questions! 

If you played MS basketball last year, please come see coach Lytle in the athletic office during Lyceum to pick up your T-shirt.

HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL

Do you play an instrument (stings, woodwinds, brass, or percussion) but missed the first meeting for the instrumental groups?  See Mrs. Gottry in room 213 for information and/or registration.

Any interested 7th – 12th grade students may join our awesome Ambassadors. CPA student ambassadors’ welcome guests in our classrooms and serve as greeters at on-campus events throughout the school year. If you like talking to new people, this would be a great leadership opportunity for you! There is an orientation to join the ambassadors on Thursday at MS and HS Lyceum in the Theater. Please see Mrs. Stephens in room 306 or Mrs. Goodwin in room 211 if you have any questions. 

Archery and Bowyery – If you are interested in Archery and Bowyery Club, in which we build bows, shoot arrows, and participate in other medieval crafts, please attend a meeting on Tuesday, August 20 at 3:45 pm.  Meet Mr. Bateman and Mr. Gardner in the Forum.  If you cannot attend, please let Mr. Bateman know.

Looking to get in shape for an upcoming sports season? Want to be faster than all of your friends? Want to become more familiar with the metric system? You should join the cross country team! All you need is a physical, running shoes, and positive can-do attitude! Please contact Mr. Korth if interested.
