ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THURSDAY, 2/14

HIGH SCHOOL ONLY

SENIORS: Your final draft of the Senior Thesis is due Tuesday, Feb. 19th. You must submit ONE hard copy to your HL teacher next Tuesday. Your teacher will record your submission and assess your effort toward completing the thesis sufficiently. If you have been approved for an early thesis defense, you need to submit THREE hard copies to your HL teacher next Tuesday; one is for your advisor, and the other two are for the faculty who will serve as readers on your defense panel. 

SENIORS only: If you have been approved for an early defense only, you have already received your defense date.  If would like to ask specific teachers to be readers on your defense panel, please get confirmation that they are willing and able to read your thesis and attend your defense. You will have two faculty in addition to your advisor on your panel. Email Mrs. Somsen by Thursday evening with the names of the faculty who have agreed to be your readers. Otherwise, all faculty are free to sign up as readers for your oral thesis defense.  

JUNIORS – There is a mandatory College 101 next Tuesday, February 19 during lyceum in the theater.  Please arrive at 12:45pm.

Attention Archons & Teachers who are signed up and plan on playing Quidditch @ Titan Triad!! Practices with equipment on CPA football field (south end) Tuesday, February 19th and Thursday, February 21st.  Meet during HS Lyceum 12:50-1:15. Please try to attend one or both sessions. See you there!!

Greetings all builders, creators, and dreamers!  This Friday there will be an informational meeting for SPAM Club from 3:30-4:00pm, where we will be discussing our plans for the rest of the year.  Our first project will be to build and launch rockets.  We will meet in the Physics lab after school.  See you there!  – Swanstrom and Milton.

Talent show finalists have been posted on the bulletin board in the forum. Congratulations to those chosen for this year’s performance! 

EXPERIENCED FACE PAINTERS – or those who are extremely artistic – please see Mrs. Goodwin if you would like to take a one hour shift at the face painting booth at the Titan Triad on Friday evening, March 1. You do not need to be part of UNlock, but you do need to be artistically talented! There is now a sign-up on the Life Science window if you are interested.

A THANK YOU BANNER FOR OUR FIREFIGHTERS NEXT DOOR will be in the cafeteria today through HS Lyceum. This is a Valentine’s Day tradition at CPA sponsored by our UNlock Club. We want EVERY middle school student, high school student, and faculty to write a brief thank you message. UNlock officers will deliver it to the firefighters, along with homemade treats, TODAY after school as an expression of our gratitude and appreciation!

We will have a send off for our boys and girls basketball teams at 3:12 in the forum. Please bring your classes to the forum just before the bell rings. Please dismiss the boys and girls varsity teams at 3:07 to come to the cafeteria.

Calling all Titans: The Titan Triad is coming up on March 1. It’s our all school carnival where we celebrate Academics, Arts, and Athletics. Our theme this year is “Unleash Your Titan Magic!” Buy a triad tshirt and a wristband by going to the pso website www.chandlerpreppso.org. or turning in the order form you’ll receive soon.  Pictures of this year’s t-shirt and sample shirt sizes are hanging in the forum. Don’t miss out! 

Titans! Are you ready to show off your titan team strength?! Tomorrow, titan houses will be competing in a tug of war battle. Please bring your sneakers for the END OF THE DAY (2:20-3:15) ONLY and get excited! Houses will be split into grade level groups and then let battles begin! This event will have us on the assembly schedule and the event will run from 2:20-3:15. If it rains the event will run on March 8th during the Battle of the Titans.

Avoid meandering (and a detention) and plan accordingly. There is no eating in the halls or in your locker (as this is how we invite vermin into the building), especially before the first bell. This is only an invitation and, therefore, optional, but we would love to have each of you join us. The invitations will be by section. The schedule will be posted outside the conference room and Mr. Haley’s office. If you have any questions, please let Mr. Haley know. If you cannot make it on the day that your section is scheduled and you would still like to make one of the “Senior Pizzas”, please speak with Mr. Haley to reschedule. SENIORS: Next week in Humane Letters you will need to provide the title of your Senior Thesis. Titles must reflect your topic and must be appropriate in regards to the seriousness of the CPA Senior Thesis. Pop-culture or flippant titles will not be accepted. 

Ultimate Frisbee Club will meet this Saturday at Marlborough Mesa Park at 11 AM. Glory awaits!

All HS Scholar-Athletes (Fall/Winter/Spring) are required to attend the PCA training afterschool todayin the gym.  Pizza will be provided after school.  The training is mandatory, attendance will be taken the training will last an hour 1:15-2:15.

Attention students who auditioned for the Titan Triad Talent Show! A Call Back list has been posted on the bulletin board in the forum. All students on the call back list must pick up an envelope with their name and feedback from the front desk. Call backs are scheduled for next Wednesday, Feb. 13 during the following times: MS students in the theater during lyceum. HS students in the theater during lunch. Final results will be posted at the end of the day on Wednesday Feb 13. If you have any questions contact Co-president@chandlerpreppso.org. Practice and good luck!

Congratulations to the Middle School A Girls Soccer Team on their semi-final playoff win yesterday against Glendale Prep.  Good luck to the team as they play in the Championship game against Scottsdale Prep today at 5:30pm here at CPA. Come out to see them play!!!
