The Archway PSO has invited the CPA Chandler community to serve together at Feed My Starving Children on our HALF DAY FRIDAY, September 28th. This non-profit group brings in volunteers to pack bags of food to starving children around the world. Registration is required to participate, we have 133 slots, please click the following link or use the join code 1499964:
Feed My Starving Children – Sept 28th 1:30-3:30pm. This is not a drop-off event. All children must be accompanied by adults. The following ratios are strictly followed.
Grades K-2: 1 student to 1 adult
Grades 3-6: 3 students to 1 adult
Grades 7-9: 4 students to 1 adult
Grades 10-12: 5 students to 1 adult
What is Stoa? STOA (‘Stow-ah’ in ancient Greek architecture, describes an area for public usage which created a safe, protective atmosphere. For Chandler Prep, it is an informal gathering time offered by the PSO where new and returning Chandler Prep parents and guardians can ask questions, learn about upcoming events, and meet others in the Chandler Prep community. Come on Friday, August 10th at 2:30 pm in the library for the first meeting!
Don’t miss the Chandler Prep Back to School Pool Party on Saturday, Aug. 4 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Desert Oasis Aquatic Center (1400 W. Summit Pl., between Dobson and Alma School). Join the CPA community as we meet during open swim time at the pool. Look for the red table cloths for our “area!” Cost: $1(ages 2-17), $2.25 (ages 18-54). Lifeguards on duty, no additional supervision provided. No RSVP, just pay at the door.
After you have finished swimming, head over to Jamba Juice (NE corner of Alma School and Warner) for a sweet treat. Mention CPA and 20% will go right back to our school! This offer is good all day Saturday, Aug. 4, from 7am-8pm! Don’t forget to mention CPA.
ALL parents new to Chandler Prep are invited to the New Parent Orientation on July 31st, 8:30-9:30 am in the CPA gym. The Chandler Prep PSO will be there along with some Chandler Prep Faculty and Parent Mentors for a Q & A session designed just for you! This optional event is open to ALL new Chandler Prep parents and guardians. If you miss this session, don’t worry, almost all of the information will be posted on the Chandler Prep PSO website.
Teacher Appreciation Week is THIS WEEK: April 30 to May 3. “Goodie bags” labeled for each faculty and staff member will be located in the forum beginning on Monday morning, April 30th. Any gifts can be deposited in their personal bag that week(or handed in person)! Remember to include Teachers, Counselors, and Athletic Department.
Be as creative as you’d like and especially consider sharing some of your culture and heritage with them! Items may be brought in throughout the week. Here are some ideas:
Thank you notes: A thank you goes a long way for the amount of time our teachers spend on our children’s success. Let them know they are appreciated! . There will also be cards in the forum for students to write notes on. (gift cards optional)
Coffee Shop/Book Store Theme– bookmarks, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Coffee shop gift cards
White board markers and erasers, Sharpies, school supplies, post-it notes: These are always welcomed and needed items.
Individual Treats: Bring in an individual treat for your teachers, such as something yummy from your culture/heritage or their favorite candy or snack.
