Back to School Pool Party on Saturday, Aug. 4 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

Don’t miss the Chandler Prep Back to School Pool Party on Saturday, Aug. 4 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Desert Oasis Aquatic Center (1400 W. Summit Pl., between Dobson and Alma School). Join the CPA community as we meet during open swim time at the pool. Look for the red table cloths for our “area!” Cost: $1(ages 2-17), $2.25 (ages 18-54).  Lifeguards on duty, no additional supervision provided. No RSVP, just pay at the door.

After you have finished swimming, head over to Jamba Juice (NE corner of Alma School and Warner) for a sweet treat. Mention CPA and 20% will go right back to our school! This offer is good all day Saturday, Aug. 4, from 7am-8pm! Don’t forget to mention CPA.

CORRECTION: New Parent Orientation on TUESDAY, July 31st at Chandler Prep

ALL parents new to Chandler Prep are invited to the New Parent Orientation on July 31st, 8:30-9:30 am in the CPA gym. The Chandler Prep PSO will be there along with some Chandler Prep Faculty and Parent Mentors for a Q & A session designed just for you! This optional event is open to ALL new Chandler Prep parents and guardians. If you miss this session, don’t worry, almost all of the information will be posted on the Chandler Prep PSO website.

Teacher Appreciation Week is THIS WEEK: April 30 to May 3. “Goodie bags” labeled for each faculty and staff member will be located in the forum beginning on Monday morning, April 30th. Any gifts can be deposited in their personal bag that week(or handed in person)Remember to include Teachers, Counselors, and Athletic Department.

Be as creative as you’d like and especially consider sharing some of your culture and heritage with them! Items may be brought in throughout the week. Here are some ideas:

Thank you notes: A thank you goes a long way for the amount of time our teachers spend on our children’s success. Let them know they are appreciated! . There will also be cards in the forum for students to write notes on. (gift cards optional)

 Coffee Shop/Book Store Theme– bookmarks, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Coffee shop gift cards

White board markers and erasers, Sharpies, school supplies, post-it notes: These are always welcomed and needed items.

Individual Treats: Bring in an individual treat for your teachers, such as something yummy from your culture/heritage or their favorite candy or snack.

Middle School Social on April 25th!

What should you do with your Middle School student on the half day Wednesday, April 25? You should go to KTR Family Action Sports Center! Trampoline, dodge ball, mini sports, and scooter areas are included in the price (*bring your own scooter and helmet*). Cost is $10 per person – pay at the door. Bring a sack lunch to eat there if you want because the cafe will not be open. Bring the completed waiver at the same time. Click here for the waiver.

Dear Senior Families,
Just a few items of importance:

Graduation announcements are expected at the end of March.  Please make sure you have paid for Graduation.  Contact Mrs. Davies if you’re not sure (vdavies@chandlerprep.org).  Payments can be made here: Senior Graduation Payment.

We need a kindergarten/1st grade picture of your senior for the Yearbook and for Senior Dinner.  Please email your photo to both Mrs. Davies and Mrs. Ferrell, mferrell@chandlerprep.org and vdavies@chandlerprep.org by March 9.  You can also drop off a photo at the front desk for Mrs. Davies to scan and return to you.  Be sure to label it!

More information about Senior Dinner will be emailed at the beginning of the 4th quarter.

Important Athletic Field Day Information

Chandler Preparatory Academy’s Outdoor Athletic Field Day is Friday, March 9 (12:30 release) Students will compete on teams from various sections in a day of foot races, tug-o-war, obstacle courses, and much more!

Dress Code: Wear tennis shoes. Clothing should be athletic, modest, and free of vulgarity. Students should not wear either excessively baggy or tight clothes, but what is appropriate to exercise in mixed company. No muscle shirts, tank tops, or spaghetti strap tops. Attire should be free of logos and messages, with the following exceptions: sports team logos (e.g., Diamondbacks, Notre Dame), and apparel brand names (e.g., Adidas, Abercrombie) are acceptable, provided they do not make inappropriate allusions (as do some skateboarding/ snowboarding brands). Hats and sunscreen are suggested, as the students will be in the sun for the day. Hat styles should follow the same guidelines as above.

Bring: hat, sunscreen, water bottle
Water will be available during the day on the covered patio but students are encouraged to bring their water bottles.

Volunteer and Community Service Opportunity: Wrestling Tournament, Dec. 8th-9th!

The 3rd Annual Titan Wrestling Invitational will be taking place on Friday, December 8th and Saturday, December 9th at Coronado High School (7501 E Virginia Ave, Scottsdale, AZ 85257).  We will be hosting 25 teams from all over Arizona for two days of wrestling excitement!  

We are in need of many adult and student volunteers from our CPA community to make this event happen successfully.  Throughout both days of the competition, we need assistance with tasks such as set-up & breakdown, scorekeeping, timekeeping, and hospitality.  Please find a schedule of shifts below……………

* Friday, Dec 8 – 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM (score/timekeeping, hospitality)
* Friday, Dec 8 – 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM (score/timekeeping, shift may end sooner)
* Saturday, Dec 9 – 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM (hospitality)
* Saturday, Dec 9 – 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM (score/timekeeping)
* Saturday, Dec 9 – 3:00 PM to finish (score/timekeeping & breakdown)

This is a great opportunity for students to gain a lion’s share of service hours and see some great wrestling by scholar-athletes from all over Arizona, including those from right here at Chandler Prep.  You can sign up for specific shifts by visiting the following link…….

Don’t Miss Chandler Prep’s Magical Musical Peter Pan: Friday and Saturday performances

Come and see the classic musical tale of Peter Pan.  Dancing, fighting, singing, laughs, fairies, and pirates – there is something for everyone!  Support our local student thespians while enjoying this fun family event!  Tickets are only $3 for students and $5 for adults. Friday, October 27th at 6:30 pm;  Saturday, October 28th at 2:00 pm and 6:30 pm in the Michele Davis Theatre at Chandler Prep. Contact Ms. Giles (mgiles@chandlerprep.org) or any CPA Theatre Club member for tickets. Tickets can also be bought at the theater before the performance.
